Extractive dust measuring systems ready for China

Environmental Measurement Technology from SICK Certified for China

teaser China Certification

The China Association of Environmental Protection Industry (CAEPI) has certified SICK products such as the extractive dust measuring systems of the FWE200 product family according to the Chinese requirements. CAEPI audits and certifies the quality standards of manufacturers and the product quality.   Continue reading

Seven questions for finding the right measuring device

Measuring dust emissions – can this also be done easily?

Measuring dust emissions is easy – if one has the right measuring equipment. When it comes to choosing the right measuring device, one has to look at both the properties of the medium to be measured and the environmental conditions. This is where SICK’s strengths really come into their own – tried-and-tested measurement principles applied in a diverse portfolio of products and combined with decades of experience in thousands of different installations. It is not simply a question of complying with legal requirements. But which measurement technology is best? Which device version is most suited to the task at hand? Continue reading

Greenhouse gas measurement

Measuring rather than calculating: Efficient greenhouse gas measurement directly in the stack

Emissions trading requires facilities that generate greenhouse gases to take their own measurements and draw up reports concerning the volume of emissions that they produce. The EU directive that took effect at the beginning of 2013 saw the introduction of more stringent requirements when it comes to the accuracy of these measurements. The measurement uncertainty for high quantities of emissions must be below 2.5%. Vantaan Energia, an energy supplier based in Finland, has found a solution to this challenge thanks to the GHG-Control greenhouse gas measuring system by SICK. Continue reading

Guideline: 10 steps to a suitable measurement system

Leitfaden Emission

The selection of a continuous emission measurement system (CEMS) is not a simple  process, after all decisions regarding significant investments and operating costs must be made. Unfortunately, there is no generally applicable rule that can be applied, as individual requirements relating to the respective industrial plant can have a major impact on the suitability and all important costs of the CEMS technology under consideration. The “Complete emission measurement technology from SICK” brochure offers guidance. It also contains the “10 steps to a suitable emission measurement system” guidelines and provides valuable support to help you make the right decision. Continue reading

South Africa‘s largest electricity producer ESKOM measures its mass emissions rate with SICK

South Africa‘s largest electricity producer ESKOM has set itself a significant task: to continuously monitor its dust concentration levels and, at the same time, meet the requirements stipulated by the country‘s environmental legislation. Providing the power plants with reliable mass emissions rates the transmittance dust measuring device DUSTHUNTER T200 and the gas flow measuring device FLOWSIC100H from SICK were selected.
