3D LiDAR SENSOR FOR MOBILE MACHINES

MORE LAYERS OPEN UP MORE PERSPECTIVES

MRS1000-teaser

Driver assistance systems based on 3D LiDAR sensors (also 3D laser scanners) or 3D vision sensors from SICK reliably detect blind zones around mobile machines and warn the operator of potential sources of danger or accidents in good time. Beside intelligent 3D assistance systems with the Visionary-B 3D vision sensor, the MRS1000 3D LiDAR sensor provides navigation and maneuvering support. Continue reading

Innovations since 1968: laser scanners from SICK

Scanner technology from SICK

Whether it’s the Watchman, Optotrap OTD or PLS – SICK represents innovation in laser scanner development. SICK has been working in the field of laser scanners for nearly 40 years and recognized early that using laser beams to perform monitoring and measuring tasks leads to enormous productivity gains. That’s why SICK has invested significant amounts in laser measurement technology, in both new technologies and product innovations alike. Continue reading

Art protection in Viennas Secession exhibition center: 2D laser scanners guarding the Beethoven Frieze by Gustav Klimt

Beethovenfries Wiener Secession

The Vienna Secession exhibition center, a union of visual artists, is presenting the Beethoven Frieze by Gustav Klimt as part of its exhibition entitled “Close-up – Gustav Klimt / Gerwald Rockenschaub – Plattform” until April 7, 2013. In doing so, the artwork has to be protected against potential vandalism. For this reason, 2d laser scanners from SICK have been deployed to place a watchful eye over the cycle of paintings.
