The product portfolio of laser photoelectric sensors from SICK is the most extensive on the market. With the W4SL-3 in miniature design as a plastic or stainless steel version, respectively, and the W9L-3 small photoelectric sensor, the portfolio has now grown to include over a dozen different product families.
To users, this variety opens up the greatest possible selection regarding construction sizes, ranges and scanning distances, as well as housing materials used, such as VISTAL® or inox steel.
W4SL-3: the performance package for standard and wet area applications
The new W4SL-3 combines maximum optical ruggedness and mechanical durability. The integrated, optimized OES3 chip technology from SICK makes the sensors insensitive to high-frequency lamps in the environment, thus guaranteeing top-level detection reliability – even at exceptionally long scanning distances. With respect to applications in which machines and sensors reach the limits of their capacity, e.g. in cleaning processes, the product family scores highly with sensor variants in inox steel housings and hygiene-optimized design. The W4SL-3 Inox and the W4L-3 Inox Hygiene have certification by ECOLAB regarding their resistance to cleaning and disinfecting agents, and they have undergone successful testing for the IP 65, IP 67, IP 68, and IP 69K enclosure ratings.
The W9L-3, too, delivers convincing performance and variety
For versatile applications in the world of automation, in which a small, precise light spot as well as first-rate ruggedness are essential, the laser photoelectric sensors and proximity sensors of the W9L-3 product family provide ideal possible solutions. They operate using SICK‘s optimized ASIC technology that effectively suppresses optical and electromagnetic sources of interference in the environment, thus ensuring safe switching behavior in any setting. The broad range of items offered by the product family results not only from the different variant types but also from flexible installation and connection designs that the sensors in the robust VISTAL® housing offer. As in the case of the W4SL-3, the W9L-3 will also be available as a special laser photoelectric reflex sensor. Thanks to increased sensitivity and automatic switching threshold adjustment, it is suited specifically for detecting transparent materials.
