Award-winning: The microScan3 is a three-time winner

After winning the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016 and the GIT SICHERHEIT AWARD 2017, the microScan3 became a three-time winner by taking the iF DESIGN AWARDThe microScan3 was awarded the prize in the “Product” discipline in the “Industry / Skilled Trades” category. The iF DESIGN AWARD is given out once a year by Germany’s oldest independent design institution, iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover.



Philip Tent-Beaumont and Maximilian Nickola, both product managers at SICK AG, accepted the iF DESIGN AWARD 2017.

The microScan3 won over the 58-person independent international jury of experts with its high degree of innovation and outstanding design. The number of applicants was large: the jurors had the task of awarding the coveted quality seal from 5,575 submissions from 59 countries.


The microScan3 safety laser scanner

The microScan3 safety laser scanner provides reliable protection for hazardous areas, access points, and hazardous points. The new generation of safety laser scanners is based on the patented safe measurement principle safeHDDM®. This new technology increases the reliability of the device when dust and ambient light is present in the environment. The status indicators, LEDs and the display are highly visible from many perspectives. Important diagnostics messages can be selected directly using pushbuttons during operation, and appear as cleartext on the display. Using the Safety Designer software, the microScan3 can be intuitively configured and is convenient to commission. Thanks to standardized interfaces, its smart connectivity saves costs during cabling.
